We sat in the patio, which had a great garden vibe. It can be loud because the train passes by often but we didn't mind. Food was delicious and they have happy hour all night long which came with appetizer, main dish and a drink for $35!! Hard to find a deal like this!! Our server was very nice and food came out surprisingly quick!

dineLA dinner menu $55/person First visit, but definitely won't be the last. The ambiance is inviting and comfortable, the service was excellent, and the food and drinks were outstanding. I really like the "open kitchen" concept. On street parking can be a challenge, but there's a trolley stop half a block away. While we took advantage of the dineLA dinner menu during our visit, we also ordered a Grilled Octopus appetizer special that evening, which was sensational. All food was seasoned and prepared wonderfully. We purchased a bottle of Italian white wine, which was very reasonably priced. I was a little surprised by the $3.50 charge for the breadbasket and EVOO, but I'm starting to see that at a lot of places. The check provided an average cost per guest, which was a cool feature. Ours was $89, which again seems very reasonable given service, food quality, bottle of wine, and additional appetizer.

My husband and I were feeling Italian food for a date night, so we decided to go with Piccolo since we had heard good things about their pasta. This is cute neighborhood spot tucked away on a lovely little street in South Pasadena near the metro train tracks with a dimly lit romantic vibe. We arrived early to our reservation close to when they opened for dinner service and were seated promptly. For our order we shared the Costino di Pane Rustico con Burrata (Roasted garlic bread crostini with Burrata, dry figs, crispy prosciutto in a grape must dressing), Linguini Mare e Monti (Black ink linguini with shrimp and porcini mushrooms, in a light spicy tomato sauce), and their special of the day, Beef Cheeks with Polenta. Everything we had tasted delicious and was cooked nicely, especially the linguini which came with perfectly al dente pasta and large succulent shrimp. Portion size was on the smaller side along with the crostini appetizer but I couldn't say the same about the beef cheeks which was actually quite generous in portion to where we ended up taking them home as leftovers. The cocktail menu is also worth a gander if you're not in the mood for wine. I ordered the Passion Fruit Martini and really enjoyed how refreshing and sweet this was.

"Everything you see I owe to pasta." - Sophia Lauren I know the feeling, Sophia ;-) Excellent neighborhood joint that was the scene of a fun business dinner. Food was very good, I enjoyed my gnocchi very much. My business colleague enjoyed her pasta as well. The appetizer of crostini burrata was flavorful but came with only 3 pieces which is bizarre, why do restaurants do that? Just add a fourth piece so the guests do not have to awkwardly cut a hard crostini or if the appetizer is shared by 2, have an option to add a 4th piece. Restaurant is dimly lit but can be noisy. It's a lovely room though. Wine list is heavy on Italian with excellent selection but not much assistance available if you need to ask questions about the list. Pricing is a little high. The Raven I ordered can be found between $25-30 retail but on this list it was $72 These are all nitpicks of course because we really did enjoy our meal and had a great conversation solving all of my industry's struggles ;-) Recommended!
